In this introductory workshop,
you will learn the basic knowledge of Kumiko and experience making "Asanoha" Kumiko using the kumiko4u tool system which anyone can use to enjoy creating Kumiko Art at home.
The tools used are only a small saw and sandpaper, so even beginners can work safely and easily. (This is a new system to make Kumiko and complicated chisels and planes are not needed.)
You will be able to take home a piece of Asanoha Kumiko that you have made which will fit beautifully into the lid of a small box that we will prepare for you.
The contents of this workshop are as follows.
-Classroom lecture by Japanese Kumiko master Kumiko4u
-Basic knowledge of Kumiko
-Construction and production method
